Plan your next Thailand Yacht Charter with our suggested 8-day Phuket Sailing Itinerary.
With dramatic limestone cliffs, hidden lagoons, and turquoise waters, Phuket’s Andaman Sea is a sailor’s dream.
Fairview Sailing, through the addition of Simpson Yacht Charter, offers a premium fleet of 15 Fairview owned and operated catamarans, based at Ao Po Grand Marina on Phuket’s northeast coast.
Whether you captain your own bareboat or hire a skipper, these comfortable, well-maintained catamarans provide the ideal platform for an unforgettable adventure.
Day 1 – Arrival in Phuket & Ao Po Grand Marina
Fly into Phuket International Airport and transfer to Ao Po Grand Marina. After a warm welcome from Simpson Yacht Charter, complete your check-in and provisioning.
Enjoy dinner at the marina’s waterfront restaurant and spend your first night aboard, familiarising yourself with the yacht and soaking up the tropical atmosphere.
Day 2 – Ao Po → Phang Nga Bay
Cast off into the breathtaking Phang Nga Bay, where limestone towers rise dramatically from emerald water.
Kayak through hidden lagoons at Ko Panak and visit the famous James Bond Island (Ko Tapu) for iconic photos.
Anchor overnight in a calm bay surrounded by soaring cliffs.
Day 3 – Phang Nga → Koh Yao Noi/Yai
Sail south to the serene Koh Yao Islands, known for their sleepy villages and quiet beaches.
Cycle or scooter through coconut groves, enjoy a Thai lunch ashore, and relax in the afternoon sun. Overnight at Koh Yao Yai for a peaceful, starry evening.
Day 4 – Koh Yao → Koh Hong → Ao Nang
After breakfast, make a short hop to Koh Hong, a stunning lagoon island perfect for paddle-boarding and swimming.
Continue to the Krabi coast and anchor off Ao Nang, where you can visit Railay Beach and its spectacular limestone cliffs. Dine aboard or take a longtail boat for dinner ashore.
Day 5 – Ao Nang → Phi Phi Islands
Set a course for the world-famous Phi Phi Islands. Explore Phi Phi Leh, including Pileh Lagoon and (if open) Maya Bay, before heading to Phi Phi Don for lively nightlife or a tranquil anchorage off Monkey Beach.
Snorkelling and vibrant marine life await at every turn.
Day 6 – Phi Phi → Koh Rok or Koh Muk
For a taste of pristine seclusion, sail south to Koh Rok or Koh Muk.
Koh Rok offers crystal-clear water and superb coral reefs, while Koh Muk features the magical Emerald Cave – accessible only by swimming through a narrow sea tunnel. Spend the night under a canopy of stars.
Day 7 – Koh Muk/Koh Rok → Koh Naka → Ao Po
Begin the leisurely journey back toward Phuket, stopping at Koh Naka Yai or Koh Khai Nok for a final swim or beach picnic.
Arrive back at Ao Po Grand Marina by late afternoon to refuel and complete check-in. Celebrate your voyage with a farewell dinner aboard or at the marina restaurant, enjoying a final night on the yacht.
Day 8 – Disembarkation
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and soak up your last views of Phang Nga Bay before an easy morning disembarkation.
With the marina only 20 minutes from Phuket International Airport, transfers are quick and hassle-free.
